Did you know...?

The Rocky Road flavor is related in the United States to ice cream, specifically chocolate ice cream mixed with marshmallows and walnuts or almonds. However, versions of this combination have produced all kinds of products: cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, ... and anything that includes these three ingredients.

There are several theories about the origin of this sweet; one of them places it in Australia around 1853. It seems that, in order to be able to dispose of the confectionery products that arrived in poor condition after a long boat trip from Europe, they were mixed with chocolate and nuts.

Years' later, in 1929 the name appears again but this time in the United States, where William Dreyer, owner of the Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream company, came up with chopping marshmallows and walnuts by adding them to his chocolate ice cream. The country is going through a bad time after the crash of 29, so Dreyer decides to baptize his invention as Rocky Road (rocky road), referring to the serious economic situation of the moment and, according to him "to give people something for which smile". In fact, the new flavor was marketed with the slogan "Share a spoonful, share a smile"

It is not our intention to disguise the flavor of our ingredients with chocolate, nor are we going through a crisis like the one of 29, but in a certain way we are currently advancing along rocky roads full of obstacles and uncertainty and, like Dreyer, we hope to get a smile from each one of our customers.
